ISLLC “Interstate School Leaders Licensure Consortium Standards”

Standard 3

A school administrator is an educational leader who promotes the success of all students by ensuring management of the organization, operations, and resources for a safe, efficient, and effective learning environment.

Artifact 1: Evaluation Interview Analysis, is a paper I wrote analyzing a teacher evaluation process.

Rationale: The summative evaluation method is an extensive length of written detail of the teacher’s entire lesson. The detail provides the teachers with an incredible resource of reference, especially for the post conference and personal evaluation of the lesson. The evaluation is essentially a play by play movie on paper, it leaves out any guessing of how the teacher taught the lesson, if there was any re-teaching and even if classroom management issues were dealt with or not.

Reflection: Constructive feedback and analysis is easier when all the information is precisely provided. If you rush the teacher evaluation you are doing a huge disservice to your employees and the students.  If the teachers don’t improve as teachers it directly relates to students not learning to the potential they could be.

Artifact 2: Prezi

This prezi presentation is titled, “The Leadership Challenge – Technology”, which is relevant to organization, operation and resources.

Rationale: To be an innovative leader in today’s world, an administrator needs to have a firm grasp on technology. We are no longer in the age of industry, we are in the age of technology and information. Students at all ages are interested and attracted to technology, so implementing technology into the school is not only the direction education is moving, it’s how students enjoy learning.

Reflection: Technology is not just a good idea, it’s a must. If a school does not teach technology and use it, we are not preparing our students for the future. The world is changing and so is the technology at a faster rate than it seems we can catch up to, though education cannot remain the same.
